What's Hot, and What's Not...

Art can be so many things, whether it is a home baked cookie or a jacket you put on, every day is an opportunity to be your best self.

There is love in it, not true?

I used to love writing in my earlier years... I had so much to say, and my voice was so loud... And now I have to wonder, what do I have to say today?  Especially to people I don't know.  I don't even know what to say to myself sometimes!

So I decided to write this blog.

Funny how life grabs you and holds on to you, and your focus shifts. 

Becoming one with the monster that swallowed you whole!

Probably not that bad... But somewhere the loud voice was lost.

I think most of us have gone through tumultuous transformations the past year.  Evaluating who you used to be, and who you are now.

Is it just me, or is the picture sometimes not that pretty?

Is it conforming, or just doing what you have to in order to get by?  What makes us not be true to ourselves?  I know I haven't been on so many occasions, and for so many years.

Obviously we have to earn an income.  But, what will I teach my daughter?  Chase money? or chase your dreams?

Let's face it.  20'ish years ago and fresh out of high school, dreams were not going to pay the bills... or so I was told!

Turning back the clock, I think I would have been quite content making cappuccinos on the French Riviera, whilst drawing pretty pictures...

But that's the beauty of life, it takes you on all these different roads, and you never know how it is going to end - like a big adventure!  Cliché, right?

I think that having a space to express yourself is of the utmost importance.

But you have to find that space, and make it yours. 

Nothing just comes from itself, you have to claim it. 

You have to be brave. 

You have to find peace.  

And most importantly: Never wear a jean jacket with a jean pants...  if you are doing so, stop.  Please.

DesertDandelion was always a thought, tucked right behind the one of having to prepare financials, presentations, and proposals... 

It was there from the time I had my first Barbie.  And it grew the day I painted my first painting.

It was always there. 

There, when I arranged events, displaying beautiful bouquet's and arranging food in a way that always spoke to the creative part of me.

 

So yes, we have to start somewhere, as long as you start.
